The Road to Oxiana Station I: Cairo 2007

Installation with video projections and wall painting

The video is shot in one take close to the Khan al-Khalili Marked in Cairo, December 2006. People are passing in the street and the afternoon prayer can be heard from the loudspeakers in the mosque.

The huge wall painting is a quotation from a recent book by Barry Turner, Suez 1956 the inside story of the first oil war.
